The Top 5 Web browsers compared, Part II
Since our last Web browser comparison for a whole year has passed. Meanwhile, IE 9, 12 Chrome, Firefox and Opera currently 5 11.50. Chrome or Opera can usurp the crown? Mozilla Firefox ends up back before Microsoft's IE9?
Since our last look at the Top 5 Web browser is now even gone a little time into the country - almost a whole year. At that time, Firefox 3.6.6, Chrome, and Safari had been arrived at version 5. Version had the highest level of Scandinavian Opera browser with 10.60. And Internet Explorer 9? Who happened to be still in beta phase. High time to time throwing a glance back to the browser landscape and see what has happened since then.
In order to intercept the flow of customers to Google, Mozilla has now decided to keep pace with the frenetic pace of development of Chrome. Previously passed between larger version jumps several years, we have now arrived at Firefox 5 and version 6 is already in open beta. Mozilla may also compete in terms of innovation with Google? Mozilla manages to pass with a higher version number in our performance tests on archrival Microsoft finally can. Can the former Speed Kings Chrome and Opera reclaim their double podium finish, as was the case in 2010?
For today's test we have cut our benchmark suite and does not need a little unnecessary, like Google's V8 JavaScript benchmark Balast and redundant dual-pixel version of the HTML5 GUIMark2 vector charting tests. We have supplemented our tests JSGameBench of Facebook and tests for battery life and reliability. But before we get to the benchmarks, we first want to say a few words on recent developments in the highly competitive browser-constant segment.
