My favorite game: Civilization

My favorite game: Civilization
The question about the favorite game can be easily answered: Civilization. It was one of the first games I've played, and is one of the few for which I now find even more time. No other game is as exciting and varied, I think, and so has a high potential for addiction. Less easy, however, the answer is the question of which version is best for now.

I can not remember exactly when it was, but sometime in the early 90s turned up with friends on a nice little game called Civilization. It fits on three floppy disks and took us under his spell soon - so much that we sat for hours without a multiplayer mode as a group in front of the computer to control the fate of our people. The complexity of the game made sure that it was not boring, even after hours and after the end of a game already feverish the next meet. Legendary were the squeaky sounds from the PC speaker, when, once again one of the enemy leader with ridiculous claims over looked, or the grinding noise when a battleship bounced in a phalanx, which was set on a hill - the latter was unfortunately quite common.
To get above all the need, the territorial expansion and the confrontation with opponents in a hat with the technological advancement, without the finances and the satisfaction of the population suffered, made the game so fascinating and varied. Plenty of long-term motivation ensured that the cards always looked different and the games developed greatly.

That has not changed to this day, even if Civilization has now arrived at Part 5 and run through a few minor and major changes has. To see the positive side, not only the slaughter of the enemy leads to the goal, but it is also possible to win by diplomacy, progress and culture. Units and urban expansion have become more complex and also innovations such as pollution, culture and religions have done for the game in my opinion well. Which brings us even when sticking point: I'm still not sure what to make of the new Civilization V, which again raises some of these new concepts to the winds and much simplified. The strength of Civilization has always been that it just was not so simple: the player could turn at innumerable screws, some with direct, some with more long-term effects.
