Droid 3 alias Milestone 3 - Android phone with large keypad

The first Motorola Droid - Droid, or in this country - was taken up as an iPhone alternative and should establish itself as a new mobile system Android. Now there is already the third installment of the series. If the device is more like "The Dark Knight Rises" and "Spiderman 3"? We checked it out.

What we like

The Droid 3 is a solidly built phone with a housing made of magnesium alloy, glass and plastic mat. It acts thus in no way cheap, such as the Nexus S. The key pressures are felt well and a new set of numbers has also come about, so that now there are five rows of keys.

The Droid 3 is very fixed. Motorola's personalized interface is tastefully designed and relatively unobtrusive. It might look pretty cheesy from the home screen, but other areas look better than the standard Android. The new screen now has a 4-inch diagonal and QHD resolution. He is ok, but not particularly spectacular in terms of image quality.

What is less pleased about

During transport to the droid 3 fühlrt like a stone in your pocket. It is difficult, it is quite large and covered with many edges. This is a disadvantage of the materials used and the built-in keyboard slider. The withdrawal is stiff and grating (as in the previous models). Apparently there are users who like that. And what is 4G LTE?

The droid 3 brings nothing substantially new. It would be nice if it would be flat for a bit but the previous owners it serves its purpose. It's faster and better than its predecessor.

For all others who need a device with a keyboard, five-line, is the Droid 3 is also not a bad choice. The Droid 3, or as it is called in Germany, the Milestone 3 in this country is not yet available.

Motorola remains at its usual schedule, should the Milestone 3 released in Germany for the Christmas season.
